The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a country in Central Africa. By land area, the DRC is the second-largest country in Africa and the 11th-largest in the world. As of 2023, the country has a population of 112 million people, consisting of a very diverse ethnic make up, dominated by ethnic groups such as the Bantu, Sudanic, Nilotic, Ubangian and Pygmy people. The Congo River, which starts in the highlands of East Africa Rit, and ends at Stanley Falls, which provides water to most of the DRC, and is the deepest river in the entire world.
